Faculty/Visiting positions: Chemical Sciences, TIFR 

TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) is inviting applications for Faculty Positions / Visiting Scientists at the School of Natural Sciences, Department of Chemical Sciences. 

Faculty Positions: 
The department is looking for interested dynamic researchers and scientists in the field of Chemical Science intending to carry out experimental or theoretical research work of the highest quality within the themes of current research activities of the Dept. In addition, the candidates may also propose new areas of research in chemical science and engineering.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree, and a few years of postdoc experience is essential.
  • Candidates with recently obtained Ph.D. with exceptional accomplishments may also apply.

Application procedure:
The application must include the following information/documents in separate PDF files:

  • Detailed CV with the complete list of publications
  • Cover letter
  • List of 4-5 referees
  • Copies of the three most significant publications as separate pdfs
  • Original research proposal (up to four pages, including a list of required equipment or facilities).
  • Please send all the pdf files as a single zipped attachment by email to dcs@tifr.res.in.

Visiting Scientists:
Who can apply:

  • Candidates with a few years of experience in research may apply for the position.
  • Candidates possessing a stable position in academia or industry are encouraged to apply.

Key Considerations:

  • The duration of the visit will depend on the project and in concordance with the scientists at TIFR.
  • The benefits of visiting a scientist/researcher will be suitably decided depending on the candidate's experience.

Visiting Fellows
Requirements:

  • Candidates with recently completed Ph.D. or just submitted the Ph.D. thesis and those with one year of postdoc experience may apply for the position. 

Key features:

  • The allowance for the position will be settled according to the candidate's experience. 
  • Housing for visiting fellows would be generally provided in the apartments opposite the Institute, subject to availability (in any case, the stay is not provided, the fellows are entitled to HRA as per the rules).
